Where is the best place to go and get more fonts? Do you need to use Adobe type fonts in Elements? I am trying to find a good set of script fonts....

Elements dosn't have its own fonts it just uses the ones on your PC ...

Dave,
If you type free fonts in the search engine on this site you'll come up with loads of suggestions for where to find fonts. Just as an example the following link will take you to a post from Diana which gives several links to our favourite fonts sites:

Is there anything I should be concerned about when adding fonts? Are there things a person should look for and steer clear of?? I'd like to add some fonts to my computer but always hesitated for fear of troubles.

Hi Sleeve Tugger ...
No problems with installing fonts on your PC but don't install too many ... we recently had someone with over 600 and that can cause some difficulties :)

Just out of curiosity.....are there any default fronts that you should NOT delete???
I also love trying out new fronts and often install them and if I find I am not using it much I'll delete them again. I just want to make sure that maybe there are fronts that are not supposed to be deleted :)

Mel ..
That is a tricky one as often software will download and install its own fonts onto your PC ... deleting them can cause problems.
I tend to only delete ones that I know I have installed ... the others I can disable using Fontbook (on the Mac). I wonder if there is something similar for Windows ... ?

Thanks Wendy :)
So far the only ones that I have deleted are the ones that I installed myself. I'm usually very cautious when it come to deleting things that I don't know much about, that's why I was curious about the fronts.

Hi Mel ...
I went through mine a while back and found all sorts of foreign fonts ... I suspect they are standard with the Mac but they made the list in Elements just too long.
I was a little dubious about deleting them so I disabled them .. at least now I don't have them all in the list :)

my favorite place for fonts - bar none - is DaFont.com (http://www.dafont.com/)
be careful - you'll spend hours there, and really slow your computer to a crawl if you add too many
for font management, I like to use The Font Thing (Win) (http://members.ozemail.com.au/~scef/) - an oldie but goodie font management utility that allows you to turn on & off fonts (or entire collections), organize your fonts into whatever categories you choose (and turn them on or off) - it's a freebie here:
