Come on Edmonton - you can do it!!! Just win 3 more!! It just wouldn't seem right for Carolina to win the Stanley Cup!!! Anne

Anne, I'm not really a hockey fan but I am cheering on the home town team. They've come a long ways for a team that hardly made the playoffs. It would be nice to see a Canadian team win. Its too bad about their goalie.

Lets hope when the Hurricanes hit Edmonton that it doesn't put the price of gas up. Once Montreal was out it was World Cup for me ... one wage put it Stanley's Cub is now between the Rednecks and the Leathernecks.

Oh yes - I'm not really an Oilers fan living in Vancouver - but for us it is now Go Canada Go. And that means Edmonton has to do the job.

Hi Anne,
I am originally from Detroit, MI so needless to say I am a Red Wings fan and you know who knocked them out of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Having said that I will always root for the Red Wings until they get eliminated. After that I will root for any of "The Original Six". After that I will root for a team from Canada or from a place that seems like they have a legitimate claim on the Stanley Cup (Oh boy watch the flames come now).
Places like California, Texas, Carolina, and even Colorado don't meet that requirement for me so...
Go Oilers!!!!
Please don't tell my family I said that.

Hector- I don't have much of an opinion about hockey, but I do about your avatar. Are you a King Crimson fan, or is it the artwork you enjoy? That LP takes me back:p

Bob- Give me credit for being 6 years younger for I didn't discover the album (that in itself dates me) until 1975. My brother bought it for the title track, I took a shining to the track "Epitaph." In fact I tried to impress a girlfriend at that time by taking the main lyric line and I told her "..confusion will be my epitaph." She told me to "quit head tripping me" and I knew the relationship was doomed. You simply couldn't be with someone who didn't appreciate the progressive rock way of thinking! I thought about their follow up album "In the Wake of Poseidon" quite a bit the past few days, as Grant's challenge has dealt with the nautical kings. In fact I played it as I worked on my entry.

Red Sky et al,
Ah you got me. Now you folks know I am an old geezer. I wondered if anyone would recognize the "album" cover from the King Crimson album whose title was "In the Court of the Crimson King" if memory serves. It was a long time ago and I may have been in some sort of altered state :o but I remember many a late night listening to this great album.
I probably did much of my listening while working in a place called, let me see if I can remember...oh yes, it was called a darkroom.
Good on you for recognizing the art work.
Cheers

Grant,
I have to agree with you....it just doesn't seem right to have Lord Stanley's Cup in a state that doesn't even celebrate winter......Just remember that a second place Oiler's team is way better than a last place Chicago Black Hawk team!
