Is it possible to get the messages in the forums to open with the most recent one first? I was pretty sure I saw a way to do that, but now I can't find it. It's kind of frustrating, when I choose to open messages posted since my last visit, that it opens on page one, even if there are 3 or 4 pages of messages. Thanks for your help.

I see that I can select Newest to Oldest in any particular string of comments, but is there a way to change the preference so it comes up that way automatically? When I change it for a string, and then go back into that same string of comments, it's back to Oldest to Newest again.

Thanks -- if anyone can shed some light.

Ha ha -- I keep answering my own post here. I think everyone else must be asleep. ;-)

Anyway -- wouldn't it be better to have the button for sorting messages from old to new or new to old at the TOP of the page instead of the bottom? That way, if you open it and it's not sorted as you like it, you can do it right there instead of scrolling to the bottom, clicking to make the sort, and then scrolling back to the top to start reading.

I promise -- I won't post any further replies to my own message. Y'all must be tirede of my soliloquy!

Hi Linda,

I suspect that the reason you have had no replies is that no one knows the answer ..... well I for one don't :) In fact I didn't even know about the Newest to Oldest until you pointed it out so thank you for that it will save me some time. :)

and I am totally confused - - sometimes (as this morning) the messages open with the newest first. It jumps right to the most recent message. Other times they open with the oldest first. The messages aren't resorted - today when I click on an unread message it just jumps to the newest message in the thread.

Is it possible that it is a server issue or setting? My sorting screen choice is set for "oldest first".

Mary,
It seems if it is a new subject that I haven't opened before, it is newest to oldest, but the next time I open it, it is oldest to newest. And if you change the setting, it doesn't stay that way for the next time you open. Oh well -- these are the challenges that make life interesting, right? :-)

That is what I thought it might be also but ................. when I just clicked on this thread (which we had both visited before) it jumped right to your message not the top of the thread.

I love life's mysteries! :)
