Hi, I'm very new to all this. I've only had a camcorder for a couple of weeks and my 12 year old son and I are trying to sort it all out.
We're trying to record something that we've edited back on to dv tape using the camcorder and firewire. Our first problem is that the "Export to tape" is greyed out and can't be used. Have tried going down the other route edit, export, to tape: it's still greyed. Is PE not picking up my camcorder and why? I had no trouble capturing - but this is done via USB2, not firewire on this particular camcorder. I am using the firewire cable which came with the firewire card I have had fitted specially - would this make a difference - do I have to buy one specially for my camcorder or are they the same?
We did manage to export the video my using the controls on the camcorder, setting it to record and playing the video in PE at the same time, but unfortunately only the picture and not the audio were exported. I understand that PE can't export MP3 files, but the voices taped when the recording was made aren't there. I have downloaded the update from Adobe which talks about audio being missing when exporting to tape, but this hasn't made any difference. I hope this makes sense.
Have another question, as well, but I'll post that on another thread to avoid confusion! Thanks.
