Hello, I have bought a Sony Vaio with new X-Black dual lamp technology. Great Screen. I use Photoshop Elements 2(coming from the sony pre-installed Adobe package) and I have a problem :
There are color/contrast differences between Windows XP image viewer and Photoshop Elements. I use the original screen profile installed by sony for my windows and don't know what to change in Elements to get the same picture. Pictures in Elements appear a bit lighter and less contrasted than in Windows ! Tried the Illustrator 30 day trial out and got the same problem ! Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The problem is likely to be that your monitor needs calibrating ... Elements is probably the only colour managed program that you are running so even if your monitor profile is only slightly off then it will show.
Go to your control panel and find Adobe Gamma then use it to calibrate your monitor ... hopefully that will sort out the problem ... :)

I have a similar problem. Once I've saved my image in Elements3 as a JPEG, when I go to print, the print preview does not match the image in Elements. This is also is I open the image by going to the hard drive file. The colors just aren't the same as when opened in Elements.
Any ideas?

Wendy,
I did...but the photo is printing as shown in the print preview. The problem is that the color in the Print Preview is different than in the Photoshop Elements 3 Editor, which is the color that I want it to be.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks.

Sounds like it is a printer issue ... Jodi is better at printing than I am. Hopefully she should be along soon ...

Wendy,
Thanks but I don't think it's a printer issue. What I have is an image that I've edited and saved in PE3. For instance, I have a photo of my Golden Retreiver and he's kind of reddish in the PE3 image. When I open that image from the file, he's more brownish. Or if I go to print it, the print preview is also brownish. They're not the same color as the edited PE3 image.

How are they when you actually print them out?
