From reading past posts, I see that music needs to be in mp3 format to use in a Pre-2 video creation (right?). I have Windows XP home and Windows media player 10-I can not for the life of me figure out how to encode my music to mp3. I even downloaded a converter plug in-Cyberlink MP3 Power Encoder (even though I'm not supposed to need one with WMP 10) and I'm still not doing something right. I have searched the microsoft site as well as google and can not find any instructions (that I can follow, anyway!)-does anyone know of a good tutorial or a better system of encoding files?
Thanks!

I can sync music to MP3 devices, but that doesn't really do me much good as far as using it for a video.

Not sure how you can convert your current digital files though I know I've seen software out there that will do it. If you have access to CDs which have your chosen music they're easy to rip with Windows Media Player in mp3 format. wma is the default but you can change to mp3 under Tools>Options> and select mp3 format on the "rip music" tab.

Oh, thank you Norm! I feel really dumb right now-it was so simple. I don't even want to tell you how many hours I've spent on this over the last few days! I had done everything except "rip"-and it didn't work the first time I tried it, I just got a message saying that the tracks on the CD were already "ripped to library" (because I had tried so many times already, I guess). I deleted the two songs I wanted to put in MP3 format from my hard drive and tried again from the CD and it worked.
Thanks again!
Deb

Glad it worked for you Deb. Sometimes the simple ones are the hardest to figure out.
