A friend of mine asked me a question. He uses JASC Paint Shop Pro, and he can add arrows to a photo to point to something particular. I have both JASC Paint Shop Pro v8.0 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 loaded on my computer. Since loading Adobe it has become my primary photo editing software.
Since he brought up the question, is there a way in Elements 3.0 to add an arrow or pointer to highlight something particular in a photo?
Any help would be appreciated.

Take a look in the Custom Shapes and you should find some arrows in there ... if none of them are what you want then go to Adobe Studio Exchange and browse the arrows there:

Hope this helps :)

there are a couple of ways...when you click on the 'shapes' tool you'll see just above screen on left a box of options> click on the line tool...you'll also see a little drop down arrow ( geometric options)...click on that for adding an arrow head to the line tool 'OR' just use the shapes...click on shape icon... and in top right you'll see another little arrow directing you to the shapes drop down menu..scroll to >arrows....lots of possibilities in there. These are vector shapes so they will be placed on their own layer.

Thanks for the help. It works, I am just going to have to refine my technique.

The more you use the program the easier it becomes ... when I first got it I used to write down where things were :) .... then I used to lose the list :(

I was so glad when I eventually found my way around it !
