My printer died the other day and I have a new one that I am learning the ins and outs of......I have a Canon Pixma MP500 and so far I really like it. I did notice that when I printed a photo directly from "my photos" the color was fabulous and the pic was really clear. When I print from within PSE3 the color isn't as crisp and appears just a tad washed out. I know there should be some way to have the printer always do the color management, but I am totally lost when it comes to those sorts of things. Does anyone have this same printer, or another Canon and can maybe help walk me through it? Thanks in advance! Kelli

Go right to this thread

and pull read the links that were posted by Colin. Check on making sure your camera and PSE are using the same color management settings, and if you take the pictures through PSE (vs camera direct) then let PSE manage the color and don't let the printer change anyting. Details are on the information provided on the other link. One is specific to Epson but really it is a good general instruction and you can just applying to your printer's settings, hopefully.

I just found this very interesting conversation (from another board) on Canon profile management including a link to a Canon PDF I strongly suggest you download :
