I was asked to touch up an image to remove the evil ex wife. They sent me a picture of a picture... Check out the before (http://www.thewolfords.com/PSE/EdsWedding.jpg) and the after (http://www.thewolfords.com/PSE/Ed.jpg).
I'm trying to get the original image to get a higher resolution original to try and restore some sharpness.
Any other ideas for corrections?
Brice
P.S. Sorry should have rotated the before. Just look at the after, you'll still see the transformation...

Brice,
You did a great job, especially of recreating his right shoulder and upper arms. Well done! Maybe you could try cloning out the two images on the wall behind him. I find the the brown one with the feet distracting. It looks as if there's someone hanging behind him. It has a comic effect for me, but then I've got an odd sense of humour.

Wow! You did do a great job Brice. I'm a little confused as to why the guy would want to photoshop the wife out of the wedding pictures though. He must of felt really good in that tux. :)

Hi Brice ...
You really have done that well ... good work with the shoulder !!
Why not move it to a new background altogether maybe something like this:
A Portrait Background (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/subscriber/tutorials/tw_portraitbackground.php)
Ummm ... not too sure if that will work or not. Anyway just in case it doesn't its in the Subscriber Area>Tutorials then scroll down quite a long way :)

great job Brice, although I can't quite figure out why the guy wants the picture done when he's obviously wearing his wedding suit which would be a reminder that it was his wedding!!

Great job Brice! I agree with Wendy - take it to the next step and give it a portrait style background while you're at it.

I understand that it's his ex and he'd probably prefer not to have to look at her. I think I'd just burn the photo album. :D I'm with Pauline. It's always going to be a picture of him in his wedding suit on the day that he married that little peach.

You guys are funny... The guy is my brother-in-law. My father-in-law sent me the picture because I had taken his arm out of a picture of my daughter - don't ask. They hate the former daughter-in-law. I'm waiting to see if he'll give me the picture so I can scan it before I do anything more. This guy's been married twice, but it's always the daughter in laws fault after the divorce... Go figure. His second wife is now on her third marriage...
The feet - I didnt' want to cut Jesus out of the picture ... It's always good to have Him hanging around, even if it is just His feet. Seriously, they will come out in the next round, if I get the original.
I like the idea of a completely different background. I'm thinking something like a neutral grey to dark blue/grey. What thinks though?
Brice
P.S. I've been married a lowly 24 years. I must be doing something wrong.

Brice ...
If you do a two tone clouds background like the tutorial then is so easy to add a Hue & Saturation Layer to it. That way you can adjust the colour etc and see how it looks behind the figure ... its much easier to see what works best that way :)

That is a great job! I agree with everyone on the background - use a portrait background in a blue/gray or even a nice outdoor scene.
Hey - you obviously got it right to make 24 years! Congrats from a 28 1/2 year veteran.

My sister asked me to do a painting as a wedding gift for friends. The guy was a trucker and she wanted a magazine rack with a truck painted on it. Like all custom work, I make sure that it's personalized. There was a tree in the painting and I carved a heart and their initials in it. When I gave it to my sister, I told her if they get divorced to give it back to me and I will paint an ax through the heart and initials in the tree. :D
Brice, I've been married 17 years but we've been living together 21. I have people amazed that all my children and myself have the same last name. It's almost unheard of these days!! This is marriage #2 though. First one was high school sweetheart and that sure didn't work out. I do have my wedding pictures stored away somewhere. No sentiments for him, but it was all the family etc. that I didn't want to part with.

Brice,
That evil bride sure looks familiar. And the person I know has also been married 3 times. Her first name starts with a K. Does any of this sound like 'your' eradicated person?

Well Carol, you had me worried for a minute. The evil bride is only evil because that's what the in-laws think of her for dumping their blameless son. Between you and me, I think she made the right decision. I thought she was sweet. He's a pri... private person.
The bride's name starts with a C so I don't think we have a match. HIS second wife looks just like this young lady. As I mentioned before that didn't work either. It's his second ex-wife that has now been married 3 times. I have no idea what's become of this young lady.

Pauline,
I think I can go you one better. I am the middle of 5 daughters, all still married to our original husbands. All except 1 married to our high school sweethearts. Amoung us we have 14 children, 28 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Note: Don't ask me about divorces and different last names among the children and grandchildren though!!

Carol that is amazing. My one sister is still married to her......well I can't say highschool sweet heart since she dropped out of school............. it's been over 25 years and my other sister, just seems to go from guy to guy and has never been married although that seems to be what she wants more than anything!! All we can do is hope for the best for our children and that they pick someone that they are compatible with.
