View Full Version : Burning Backup Files to CD

Having just recently bought a Fuji E550, I tried to download the photos from my computer to a CD in order to take it to a photo printer. I simply used Windows Explorer and clicked and dragged the files onto the CD. This worked fine.

I notice that Elements 3.0 has an archive program which will burn the photos onto the CD and leave behind low-resolution files which will reference the particular CD that the files got downloaded to. I want to try it this way and I followed directions in "Help," but when I got to the window where I am to designate the pointer, the window recognized the E drive, but wouldn't let me select it. I have Roxio Easy CD Creator on the computer (XP Windows). Should I be formatting the CD with the Roxio or does Elements do it for me? Or is there something else I'm not doing properly?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,

PE3 uses the Sonic RecordNow program to burn CD's, which is comparable to the Easy CD Creator, so you don't need to format.

I take it you are following this process:

 In Organizer, select the photos you want to archive.

 Put a CD into the drive.

 File > Backup

 In Burn/Backup window, Step 1 - choose Copy/Move

 Step 2 choose Move Files

 Step 3 Select the destintation drive and click Done.
