I put a few swan photos in my gallery. I've been at their little marsh every evening for about a week -- probably took 1000 photos or more. And then comes the sorting and sifting and what-can-I-do-in-Elements...

Hi Jo ...
Oh those are lovely photographs ... swans are just so elegant and you have captured them perfectly !! It was worth taking so many shots to get those :) The first one looks like something you would find on a birthday card and those reflection on the second one are excellent.
You must be so pleased with them :)

Jo,
Beautiful shots. They look so elegant, and you did a great job in framing them. Wow, a 1000 shots, but it sure was worth it wasn't it.

They are such fun to watch and sometimes you don't even realize what was happening until you put the tiny images on the big computer screen. My neighbor had a series of shots where 1 little cygnet kept swimming away and the big mama swan snapped him up and plopped him back in the water close to her. And I caught a series where 1 cygnet didn't want to swim and was climbing up its mama's leg to hitch a ride -- another thing happening that I couldn't really see until I saw the series on the computer screen.

Jo those are great, those cygnets are so cute! I like the touch of spotlight it's very effective. I think I would hang out all day at the pond watching them if they were near me.

Jo, they're lovely. I can't add to what the others have said but I think your time was well spent.

Jo, aren't the just the most beautiful birds? And you caught the "swan-essence" perfectly :) . I like the third one a lot, too -- the one you did the ink outlines on. I'd be happy to have that hanging on my wall as a piece of art.

Jo the images are beautiful!!!
I can relate to what you did very well. I do the exact same thing over here, only at the moment it's with cute little ducklings :) Sometimes I go out to see some of the 'wildlife' that is here and hours seem to disapear and I come home with a full memory card
I just love it in nature and watching how 'birds' have their own ways, especially when there are little ones involved :)

Can you stand another one? I just added it to my gallery.
I really liked the way he was showing off, but he was so far away and my focus wasn't very good so the pics were fuzzy beyond sharpening. But a couple of filters to turn it into a "painting" worked much better -- paint daubs and poster edges this time.
