I know I can link to a previous thread when replying to a question, but can I link to a particular post in that thread. Suppose there are 56 replies to a post and someone asks a question in a new thread that was answered in Post 17 of the old thread. Can I make a link that goes directly to Post 17 or can I only say "This previous thread has your answer. Look at Post 17" and make a generic link.

Any time I have tried it I always have to just say which response answers the question. I always seems to go to the first or last post in the thread depending on how you have your preferences set but not to a specific response. If there is a way that I'm missing I too would love to know.

Hi ...
I haven't found a way to do it ... so I tend to give the message number :)

Ward,
I think you can go to a specific page in a thread if the thread runs to more than one page. For instance this link will take you to page 4 of a five page thread:
http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9755&page=4
Then you'd have to specify post#.

Hi ...
There is a slight problem with specifying the page in the link ... as the page number depends on what each person has set their number of posts per page to (User Control>Edit Options).
It confused me for a while until I worked out what was happening :)

Hi Wendy,
I didn't think of that. So if I send a link like I did above but someone has got their options set to 40 posts per page they'll get a different result when they click on the link to someone else who has it set to forum default?

You can do it by clicking on the #xy on the top right hand corner of the post. That opens the specific post up in a new window and you can copy and paste the URL like this:

You're welcome. I didn't realise you could do that here either but I'd seen it done on another forum so looked around for something clickable and got lucky :)

Nice going Tony, It seems there's always a way to do something you didn't think could be done. Wel will have to pass on this new feature to our fellow forum users.
Also nice to hear about Pixentral.
